‘A ladder to Adventure’
As part of our learning about mountains and rivers, Year Four virtually met Nick Carter at the end of last term.
Nick is something of an explorer and he has climbed the world famous Mount Everest twice in the last ten years! He told us all about his experiences, including travelling via the world’s most dangerous airport in Lukla, several encounters with long-haired, short-legged mammals known as ‘yaks’, and an unfortunate incident with a urinal bottle at base camp!
It has certainly encouraged us to think about some adventures we would like to go on in the future, as well as making us appreciate life down here closer to sea-level, where oxygen is plentiful and the temperature is very much warmer!
