Year 1
Welcome back to our final term of Year 1! We will now start to enjoy lighter evenings and better weather. Hooray! We have an exciting and busy term ahead, particularly with phonics as we approach the Year 1 National Screening Check in June. To help prepare your child, please ensure that you are reading regularly with them at home as much as possible. Should you require any additional materials to support your child with their phonics, please speak to a member of the Year 1 team who will be happy to help.
Our project this term is School Days. We will be learning all about the history of De Havilland School and our local area. We are also going to go back in time to the Victorian era and learning how different school was then. Later in the term, we hope to be experiencing this for ourselves when we visit a Victorian school.
An exciting term lies ahead. As always, if you have any queries or concerns regarding your child’s learning, please speak to their class teacher.
