Year 4
Welcome back to the Summer term, when we start to enjoy lighter evenings and better weather! We have an exciting and busy half term ahead. The Year Four team have been so impressed by the level of engagement with home learning; keep up your fantastic efforts - daily reading and weekly tasks, as well as online learning such as TTRS - it really does have a positive impact on the children’s learning in school. Our new project this half term is all about Ancient Civilisations, focusing on The Ancient Egyptians, so this could be a great opportunity to take your child to a museum to explore this topic further.
The National multiplication check (MTC) is fast approaching and we encourage all families to ensure times tables practise is taking place at home to help your child with this. If you have any issues logging in or accessing TTRS, please let a member of the Year 4 team know.
Towards the end of term, we will begin our transition into Year 5 by meeting our new teachers and learning practitioners, and will spend some time in our new classrooms. We will continue to encourage the children to demonstrate higher levels of maturity in their learning behaviours.
If you have any queries or concerns regarding your child’s learning, please speak to their class teacher or contact us via the year group email address: year4@dehavilland.herts.sch.uk
